Guess what, my friends? It’s time to start getting ready for yet another holiday! This one, luckily, doesn’t come with quite the hefty price tag that Christmas carried. I’m totally recycling here, by the way. Take a look at all my past favorite Valentine’s Day gift ideas posts for inspiration on what to get him, her and the kiddos.
So Christmas is over, which means it’s time to start pushing Valentine’s Day! Yes, I know, you JUST took down your tree, isn’t it a little soon to start talking hearts and flowers? Alas, my friends, it’s never too early if you want Google to index your posts in time to actually have people find it for the holiday. If you’ve ever wondered why bloggers start talking about Christmas is October and Halloween in June, well, that’s why. It’s all about the Google. Someday, maybe it will be all about the Bing. I’m totally pushing them as the best search engine you’re not using. Way better than Google. But I digress. Here, in no particular order, are the very best of the best Valentine’s Day gift ideas that I’ve culled from the countless reviews I’ve done over the years.
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Her
Gorgeous Jewelry under $100! I love the Infinity Collection from Helzberg Diamonds so much I’ve written about it twice. That post linked right back there is my favorite though, because it includes several other easy tips to give jewelry without busting your budget. Check it out!
A trip to a romantic destination. Aside from my Intel AIO computer, my trip to Paradise Stream two years ago was probably the coolest benefit to being a blogger ever. If you don’t recall, Sal and I spent two nights in the height of romance and luxury. While I’m not saying you have to whisk your love away to the Poconos (it’s really FREAKING COLD here right now), a romantic getaway is still a great Valentine’s Day gift for her (or him, or just you!).
Flowers…done right. Flowers are the go-to gift when a guy has no idea what to get a girl, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Check out my tips for sending the right flowers and send an arrangement that really shows you know her personality. Of course, if she hates flowers, you’re on your own here.
Amazingly delicious cookies! Has it really been two years since I tasted the sweet goodness of Isabella’s Cookie Company valentine’s day cookies? It had to be, I was even worse at taking pictures back then than I am now! Relatively small and boring picture aside, those things were insanely delicious! I’m getting all drooly just thinking about them.
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Him
You know what I just realized? I haven’t done hardly ANY Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for him posts over the years. Wow. I totally slacked there. So I’m recycling some of my Father’s Day ideas instead. Hey, they still work!
This one came from my Unique Father’s Day gift ideas post and was my most popular gift idea ever. Like, I totally made money on Amazon from that one. Not a ton, but enough to buy a decent amount of Christmas gifts for my son with it! Guys love zombies these days. I guess girls love them too, but guys seem to go nuts for them. Nothing says “I love you” better than “hey, here’s a kit to help you not get eaten by zombies!”
I am mildly obsessed with RedBubble. They have the coolest t-shirts on the planet, including awesome gifts for him. They carry EVERYTHING you can think of: funny, geek, TV shows, movies, a little naughty, a whole lot naughty and more. I can spend hours just chilling on their site pinning stuff to my Pinterest boards.
Meat! When in doubt, get him meat. Unless he’s a vegetarian. I personally do not eat mammals. I have accepted the fact that Sal does. If he’s going to eat furry mammals, though, I’d prefer he get them from a free-range farm like Prescott Frost. It’s organic, which is good for him. The cows are allowed to roam free before they are slaughtered, which still isn’t great for them but better than being factory farmed.
A pizza stone! Of all the gifts for men that Sal has reviewed for me in the past two years that we’ve been together, this one benefits me the most. I like pizza, especially when made on a stone. There is no reason you can’t get a gift that benefits you too! We’ve had this pizza stone for nearly a year now (anything over six months is “almost a year” to me) and it’s still holding up perfectly.
Valentine’s Day Gifts for Kids
I don’t go all nuts on Valentine’s Day gifts for Jacob, but I do like to get him a little something. After all, he’s been my Valentine every year since he was born, and sometimes he was my ONLY Valentine. These are all relatively inexpensive Valentine’s Day gift ideas for kids.
Wuggle Pets: Look at my little monkey pants two years ago! He was such a cutie! He still is, of course. That was the year he got his Wuggle Pets. Two years later and he still sleeps with them. Shows how well they held up! He had such a great time putting them together. I’m sure after two years they have like a zillion other options, so check it out and grab some for your kids!
Happy Nappers: Going back even further in time, I reviewed Happy Nappers way back in July 2011, the first year of Pretty Opinionated. Like the Wuggle Pets, this guy has really held up over the years too. Even his little snoring box still works great!
Educational Games: After the onslaught of toys and games kids get after the holidays, it’s nice to use Valentine’s Day to give something a little more educational. While we didn’t review Multiplication Slam for Valentine’s Day, I think it would be perfect. Jacob is just now really covering multiplication in school, and this game really gave him an edge.
So what do you think? Do you have any fabulous Valentine’s Day gift ideas to share? I’d love to hear them! If you have a post on the topic, feel free to share it in the comments so I can check it out!
Excellent ideas. I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day with my husband, but I get little things for my kids 🙂
Great ideas! While my husband and I don’t really celebrate, only buying chocolates for our girls, I wouldn’t mind having some chocolate covered treats myself!
I have a great gift idea in store for hubby this year. We’ll see if it comes to fruition. 😉
Oooh, very mysterious! I hope it works out!!
I looked at that infinity jewelry for so long last year at the mall. I couldn’t decide, but now you’ve got me thinking about it again. it’s very pretty!
I love it because they have items in just about every price range.
Would love that multiplication slam for my son. Thanks for these ideas!
I love these gift ideas, especially the meat. Valentine’s Day is on a Friday this year. I think I will see if I can convince my boyfriend to stay in and have a little barbecue.
Great ideas here! I’m a jewelry girl myself, so I LOVE those infinity pieces!
They are gorgeous! I have a necklace and earrings from the set, beautiful yet not overwhelming.
This is a great gift guide. The zombies kit is too cool.
wonderful gift ideas and the 3 day zombie survival kit was to funny my son would flip for that just because of the name
We here all love Valentine’s Day. The kids get their cards ready for school and my hubby brings me flowers. I usually get him a card with a love poem inside along with some chocolates, this man loves chocolate teehee!
These are some great ideas~ This year for Valentine’s I haven’t decided yet but I think I will ask for a new Coach purse. ;0) And, I’m sure of course he will get me a card and roses. For my kids I am making them all gift bags and my daughter is getting a lala mermaid from her special valentine – daddy! <3
We just go out to eat and have a calm Valentines Day. As long as I get chocolate. lol
Those are great suggestions. Every year we celebrate the same way – a nice quiet movie with the kids. Going to dinner is never an option as everywhere is so busy.
I avoid restaurants like the plague on Valentine’s Day. Too crowded!
I love Valentines day, especially for kids! So many fun crafts to make. This year, I’m hoping to find something easy that doesn’t involve sweets for my toddler :).
That is always a challenge! I usually go with a DVD or something small, that way my son doesn’t even miss the candy.
That infinity ring is beautiful! Gonna have to show it to hubby 😉
I love the zombie kit too. DH and his friends are always joking about the upcoming zombie apocalypse lol.
My boyfriend is always talking about the zombie apocalypse too. I hope he’s joking, lol!
These are totally great and fabulous ideas. I like that ring:)
What some great idea I adore the infinity symbol things they are beautiful <3
The jewelry is really beautiful but I really love the Zombie Kit. Wish someone would give me that for Valentine’s Day. Yes, I’m not the typical jewelry and flowers kind of girl, LOL
I don’t have any ideas yet. I think I need to get going. I love some of your suggestions. Especially the jewelry for myself, 😉 .
Thank you so much for these ideas!! I had no idea about Isabella’s Cookie Company and I look forward to checking it out! My daughter really wants a Happy Napper, so that’s also going on the list!
these are some really great gifts for v-day! I love how you included the kids also 😀
I don’t really buy valentines days gifts for the kids and hubby is especially difficult to shop for. Great list!
I never seen multiplication slam before but we could definitely use something like that here. Great ideas for valentines day.
My son is only three, so we haven’t done Valentine’s Day with him yet, but this year I want to make a big deal out of it – I love any excuse to do stuff like this with him! (But I’d want that gorgeous bouquet for myself!)
I hope to meet my valentine date very soon. The ideas for girls are cool. I guess majority of the girls are very attracted to jewelries. Giving them shiny accessories might really turn them on. As a man, Meat and printed shirts are awesome. But for Zombie Apocalypse survival kit? Men would die to own such piece of art. Men have wild imaginations and majority loves adventures! Who doesn’t, I suppose.
Yeah, It’s time for Valentines Day. I love to celebrate that day with my husband. These ideas are really cool. And for this time I’ve a great gift for my hubby. Your ideas are useful and helpful for everyone. Thanks a lot for sharing these ideas with us.
